“Boeing Boeing” Performances to Begin on Friday, April 26

Performances of Hamilton-Gibson’s production of “Boeing Boeing” will be at 7:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, April 26 and 27 and May 3 and 4 and at 2:30pm on Sunday, April 28 in the Warehouse Theatre at 3 Central Avenue in Wellsboro. Set in the late 1960s, this classic comedy follows a day in the life of Bernard, an American architect living in Paris. Played by Titus Himmelberger, Bernard has found the secret to happiness. He has a perfectly ordered life, which he shares with his three beautiful fiancées, all airline hostesses. Gloria, played by Samantha Coolidge, flies for TWA; Gabriella, played by Natalie Himmelberger, for Alitalia; and Gretchen, played by Sarah Brion, for Lufthansa. This ensures that they rotate through the apartment on different schedules. It is the perfect set up for the perfect life until today when all of the schedules are just a bit off. To add to the confusion, Robert, an old school friend from home portrayed by Mitch Kreisler, is visiting. Bernard’s maid/housekeeper Berthe, played by Yolie Canales, has a front row seat to the chaos that ensues in the apartment. Clare Marie Ritter of Blossburg is the director. Linda Young of Wellsboro is assistant director, set designer and primary builder. Cindy Evans of Little Marsh is in charge of costumes. “This show takes me back to the slapdash comedies of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin,” said Young. “It is a light-hearted farce that will hopefully give the audience a few hours of escape and fill them with laughter and joy.” Sponsors are Ken and Donna Mettler and Matthews Motor Company. Admission for adults is $12 and $6 for youth, 18 and under. A $60 FlexPass is also available. Purchase tickets online at the HG website at hamiltongibson.org or via links to TicketLeap on HG's Facebook page.
